A Phrase to Remember

My drawing is plain today, although it might not look that way. It has no attributes, no symbols, no playful background. I pushed myself until I could do no more. I did it because I promised to draw Mary Magdalene every day. And as I try to write, it’s hard finding words or ideas. I’m profoundly tired.
At this moment, I need to remember that this too shall pass: this kind of tired, this way of feeling. Nothing bad is happening, just the little things I can’t control.
This is a phrase I learned from Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now. I use it when I can’t see a solution in the present. It’s a way to be in the present by accepting it and remembering that nothing is permanent.
This too shall pass.
But for tonight, sleep will be the best medicine!
