Connecting

Today’s Magdalene drawing is on its way to my friend Jerry, whom I met through my art and have never met in person. For a long time, I lost track but I think it’s been at least 10 years, we write cards and letters through the mail, something I loved to do in the old days. Thanks Jerry for being my pen pal!

One of my guiding principles for this year is “Gather the Tribe”-Connecting. I am dedicating today to cultivating that idea.

People my age grew up with landlines and letters, so we still make phone calls and use the mail. I’ve always loved the process of creating a letter and sending making something special for someone. One of my dreams is to one day have a special desk dedicated to writing letters in my little house in Puerto Rico, where I can go sit every night and write a letter to someone who would like to receive it.

For now, I am lucky to have my friend Jerry, who appreciates receiving and writing letters. Jerry is my Magdalene brother. He is a very spiritual person and loves Mary Magdalene. He sends me encouragement and his beautiful presence through his letters, and I am a very lucky person to have such a friend!
